Leave it to The Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto, a voice of reason in what is often an ocean of media hysteria, to intelligently ask the questions about the player primarily responsible for four of the five division titles in the franchise’s history:
“Why does James do some of the things that he does?
“Twitter stuff? Cryptic comments in press conferences?
“The part of him that enjoys pondering and talking about what comes next in his life?
“All in the middle of the season?
“It’s annoying, especially to a fan base that watched him leave once.
“For all his maturity and often very solid leadership, James sometimes ends up driving in the wrong lane.”
Unfollowing the Cavs on Twitter and choosing to spend time with Dwyane Wade during a long stretch of days off or after a game in Miami don’t come across as closing-the-ranks types of things.
Is this anything or simply much ado about nothing? Winning is supposed to cover up a multitude of problems, but no playoff-bound team this season has been surrounded by the sort of controversy the Cavs seemed to have attracted.
