Now that the Cavaliers have their full roster back, the process of creating lineups that work is still in development. Many of the lineups that took the court against Golden State had never played together this season, which caused problems in creating any sort of rhythm.
Last season, the midseason addition of J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and Timofey Mozgov turned the Cavs’ season around, in part because they were able to develop almost immediate chemistry that allowed Cleveland to eventually reach the finals.
For the Cavaliers’ sake, they hope that this transition period is equally brief, but it will obviously take time before a complete answer emerges.
