As a precaution, LeBron James was a late scratch in the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ lineup on Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers due to a sprained right wrist.
The injury occurred late in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s 103-95 win against the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills when James fell down awkwardly on his right wrist under the basket. The injury wasn’t serious enough to make him exit, as James finished the game with a clutch performance.
James was given an MRI at the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday afternoon, as tests showed there was no structural damage done to his right wrist.
“I broke my wrist before,” James said Tuesday. “I landed on my wrist like that and actually, it was the other way around. I actually got taken out the air in high school and broke my wrist.”
However, this news should cause great concern for Cavs fans since the team seems to struggle so mightily when James is out of the lineup.
James had also been an absolute monster statistically in his return to the lineup, while his other healthy teammates were finally able to establish a great team chemistry as of late.
More news and updates will come in the near future on James’ injury.
