Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ relationship with disgraced rapper Diddy has been a popular topic of late. Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington went after the 39-year-old prior to his bout against Joaquin Buckley, which he ended up losing on Saturday.
Additionally, former Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks star guard Stephon Marbury posted on X that he’s made plenty of blunders over the course of his life, but at least he never attended a Diddy party like some folks think James did.
Former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Brandon Goodwin is the latest to weigh in on the connection between James and Diddy. He claimed that if the rumors are indeed true, it would make for one of the “craziest” sports stories of all time.
Diddy is facing a mountain of disturbing allegations including sex trafficking and rape. In October, two lawsuits were filed by men who were reportedly underage at the time when they were sexually assaulted. One of the victims was allegedly just 10 years old when the assault took place.
Additionally, fashion designer Bryana Bongolan alleges that the rapper dangled her over a 17th floor balcony and threatened to end her life back in 2016.
Goodwin is several years removed from his last season in the NBA. He appeared in 36 games with the Cavaliers in the 2021-22 regular season and averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.7 steals per contest.
Before his short stint in Cleveland, he spent the first three seasons of his pro career playing for the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks. He went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft after he played college basketball with the University of Coastal Florida and Florida Gulf Coast University.
James, on the other hand, is still kicking in the NBA but seemingly nearing the end of his pro career. He is currently in his 22nd season in the NBA and seventh as a member of the Lakers organization.
The NBA’s oldest player has sat out each of the Lakers’ last two contests but is averaging 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game so far in the 2024-25 regular season. Perhaps James will make his return to the court when Los Angeles takes on the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
