Report: Cavs Had Multiple Trade Offers for Kevin Love at Trade Deadline

It’s no secret that Cleveland Cavaliers veteran Kevin Love prefers to play for a competitor.

According to Evan Dammarell of Forbes.com, the Cavs had trade offers for Love at the 2020 trade deadline.

“But, the trade deadline came and went and Love was still on Cleveland’s roster,” Dammarell wrote. “Love’s blowup leaking into the court of public opinion caused some teams to sour on him. The Cavaliers did have offers on the table, but none of them were to their liking for a player of Love’s caliber, per league sources.”

Love, 31, made it clear he wanted to be moved this season.

The big man clashed with coaches and front office members over the future of the franchise. After all, the organization is in the midst of a rebuild while Love is heading out of his prime.

The 6-foot-8 pro is in his sixth season with the Cavs. On the season, he is putting up 17.6 points and 9.8 boards per game.

When he first arrived to Cleveland, the team was competing for a championship. Now, the Cavs are among the worst squads in the league.

Nonetheless, the 2016 champion has been mostly professional about his displeasure with the franchise. While the Cavs have tried to move him, Love’s contract complicates transaction conversations.

During the summer of 2018, Love signed a massive four-year, $120 million contract extension with the Cavs.
