On Friday, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love sent a message of gratitude to Ohio’s frontline professionals and essential workers.

“You guys, and I mean, the first responders, the medical staff, everybody working at the hospitals, the grocery store workers, the pharmacy workers, you guys are our true heroes,” Love said. “You guys are having to sacrifice so much during this time. We thank you. We really do from the bottom of our heart.”

Love, 31, has been an active community member in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

Most notably, the 2016 champion was the first NBA player to make a financial donation to his respective stadium. In fact, he donated a whopping $100,000 of his own to support Cavs arena and support staff affected by the suspension.

The remarkable offering led several other NBA stars, such as Giannis Anteokounmpo and Zion Williamson, to follow suit with their own teams.

Furthermore, Love has preached the importance of mental health and social distancing amidst this anxious time.

The veteran has been a tremendous citizen and team ambassador for the Cavs. Despite the troubling times, Love has set a phenomenal model for the squad’s young players to follow in the future.

The 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 17.6 points, 9.8 boards and 3.2 assists per game this season.
