Draymond Green Explains Why He’ll Miss Facing LeBron James in NBA Finals

Before this season, LeBron James had advanced to the NBA Playoffs for 14 years in a row.

That incredible record, which spanned over his first tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his stint with the Miami Heat, and of course his more recent years back in Cleveland, came to a screeching halt in his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While one would think that the Golden State Warriors would be happy about not having to face James and the Cavs in the NBA Finals for a fifth straight season, it seems like Warriors star Draymond Green will miss the challenge.

“It’s just weird,” Green said. “More as a basketball fan than anything: ‘Damn, Bron not there.’ It’s super weird. You always relish the opportunity to play against a talent like that.”

Green went on to talk about how odd it will be for him and his teammates to not be able to face off against James and the Cavs in this season’s Finals.

“It’s just weird to look over there to know that you’re going to play someone completely different,” Green said. “It’s kind of a mind—.”

James and Green have had their fair share of battles throughout the last four seasons, and it’s a shame that that legacy won’t continue.

Given the way the Warriors are playing at the moment, it seems likely that they will steamroll their way to a third straight NBA title.

No longer title contenders, the Cavs are looking to have a successful offseason to continue their roster rebuild.

As for James and the Lakers, they’ll look to pick up the pieces of what was one of the most disappointing seasons for a team in recent memory.
