Matthew Dellavedova Discusses Cavs’ Goal for Rest of 2018-19 Season

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova has seen the Cavaliers both struggle and capture an NBA title during the course of his NBA career.

On Tuesday, he spoke about the main goal for the 16-48 Cavs, who have won four of their last six games.

“When we’re moving the ball and getting stops, you know, everyone’s touching, everyone’s feeling good and obviously, when you’re winning, it’s a lot more fun,” said Dellavedova. “So I think, you know, Sunday night was really enjoyable for everyone and we want to keep playing hard and having fun the rest of the year.”

That Sunday night contest saw the Cavaliers roar back against the Orlando Magic, outscoring their opponents 40-21 in the fourth quarter to win 107-93. In the game, Dellavedova came off the bench to score 11 points, grab three rebounds, hand out three assists and collect two steals on the night.

The 28-year-old Dellavedova has been a fan favorite with Cavs fans since making the team as an undrafted free agent in 2013. After the Cavaliers won the NBA title in 2016, he left as a free agent and signed with the Milwaukee Bucks.

This season, with the Cavaliers in freefall, he was reacquired in a three-team deal that sent veteran George Hill to the Bucks.

In his 35 games since rejoining the Cavs, Dellavedova has averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 assists. In addition to his play on the court, he’s served as a valuable mentor for Cavaliers rookie point guard Collin Sexton.
