Jordan Clarkson Passionately Affirms Women Should Go to Jail for Making False Accusations

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson took to his Instagram story to voice his opinion on a specific sexual assault case involving a false rape accusation.

NBA free agent Nick Young posed a question on whether or not women should go to jail for false rape accusations, to which Clarkson passionately gave his affirmative.

This particular case — in the image above — is of Brian Banks, who was once one of the most highly sought-after athletes in the nation coming out of high school. He had verbally committed to the University of Southern California (USC) in 2002, after which he was falsely accused of rape and thrown behind bars for nearly six years.

After his rightful release from prison, Banks received tryouts with several NFL teams in the summer of 2012, and signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2013. He played four preseason games with the Falcons and was released by the team shortly thereafter.

Cases like these are truly emotional and illustrate how false accusations can ruin lives and careers.

Over the last few years, an increasing number of NBA players have become more vocal about social justice and human rights issues. It is nice to see Clarkson providing his input on powerful issues like this.
