While the Cleveland Cavaliers make numerous roster shifts, there are a few players they want to specifically hold onto.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs consider these four guys their core players:

“Along with [Kevin] Love and [Tristan] Thompson, there’s also [Collin] Sexton and Larry Nance Jr. [Cedi] Osman is on the fringe, but looks more like a back-end-of-the-rotation player on a future contender as opposed to a starter.”

Love, 30, is the best player the Cavs have. The 6-foot-10 big man has career averages of 18.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. While the veteran is currently out with injury, Love is expected to provide solid production upon returning. The 2016 champion is the team’s highest paid player.

The other champion the Cavs consider a part of their core is Thompson. Although the Cavs have been abysmal this season, the eight-year pro is having a stellar season. Thompson is putting up a career-high 12.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game this year.

Some of the youngsters, Nance and and Sexton, have tremendous potential. Nance is averaging 8.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a game this season. Sexton, on the other hand, is posting 15.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in his first season in the league. Among rookies, the point guard is the fourth-highest scorer and averages the third-most minutes.
