Report: Cavs to Be Without 5 Rotation Players Tonight vs. Hornets

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be missing five key players for Tuesday night’s home game against the Charlotte Hornets because of injuries. That situation makes their effort to win their second game of the season that much more difficult.

Three of those players are part of the starting lineup, with power forward Kevin Love expected to miss at least another month after having surgery on an injured toe. In the case of Cedi Osman, he left last week’s game against Oklahoma City with a back injury, while George Hill is rehabilitating a sprained right shoulder that occurred during a Nov. 5 loss in Orlando.

Veteran shooting guard Kyle Korver is currently dealing with foot soreness and missed the team’s practice on Monday. Forward Sam Dekker was ruled out for up to four weeks after suffering a sprained ankle in that Orlando game.

The Cavaliers are currently enduring a brutal 1-11 start, including their current five-game losing streak. Former head coach Tyronn Lue was fired after the team dropped their first six games, with the organization elevating assistant Larry Drew to that role. However, after winning his first game, five straight losses followed. Drew is now burdened with trying to manage a rebuilding team that’s currently plagued by injuries.

Following Tuesday night’s game, the shorthanded Cavaliers won’t be able to rest with a Wednesday night game in Washington on tap. They will get a break after that, with their next contest not scheduled until next Monday.
