It looks like another core member of the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 2016 championship squad is expected to return next season.

That’s because Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com is reporting that shooting guard J.R. Smith is expected to re-sign with the team next year.

Smith’s agent Rich Paul has reportedly received phone calls about his client’s availability, however Paul has told them that the 6’6″ guard is returning to the Cavs next season.

Smith was a vital piece of the Cavs’ brilliant run last season as he put up averages of 12.4 points and 2.6 made 3-pointers.

Not much is yet known about Smith’s new contract, however we will keep you posted here at Cavaliers Nation as the information becomes available.
